What the heck is Podcasting?

Podcasting is really just a radio segment, that is created in series of episodes, that listeners are typically subscribed to or that they download.

Why is podcasting becoming so popular?

Podcasting is something that has become more popular in 2016. The main reason we have seen a growth in podcast listeners is due to how convenient podcasts are. Listeners are able to download and listen to a podcast on almost any device such as, tablets, smartphones and computers.

What is the difference between radio stations and a podcasts?

The biggest difference is that, Podcast are considered to be “owned media”. This means that no one can alter the production of your podcast or how you distribute it. It is your podcast and you own the rights.

4 steps to follow when becoming a podcaster

1. Plan: Give yourself time to plan out your podcast. Create a podcast that you are interested in like Fashion, politics Etc.

2. Produce: Remember, you’re writing for the ear so use things like sound to enhance the background. You can also use free software to help edit your podcast like "Audacity"

3. Publish: Make sure you continue to publish your series to keep your audience engaged! Provide your audience with a regular release schedule.

4. Promote: Promote consistently about upcoming series and previous series! You can promote your podcasts through your website, blogs, social media, direct mail, newsletter etc.

Tips when creating a Podcast

[if !supportLists]● [endif]Give your audience a platform, where they can give feedback. By allowing your audience to give feedback, it would increase engagement and build awareness.
